Leading the Charge: Spearheading the Greenlink Nevada Transmission Project, a Global Energy Landmark
September 28, 2025
As Vice President of Major Projects for NV Energy, I support a great team building the Greenlink Nevada Transmission Project, an unparalleled infrastructure undertaking that reshapes the state’s energy landscape with its colossal scale. Spanning 717 miles of high-voltage transmission lines, the project includes the 472-mile, 525 kV Greenlink West line from Las Vegas to Reno and the 235-mile Greenlink North corridor from Ely to Yerington, supported by multiple substations, including the world’s largest at 360 acres, and advanced communication microwave and telecom systems, all valued at over $4.2 billion. This massive endeavor connects Nevada’s renewable energy zones, unlocking up to 8 GW of clean energy capacity from solar, wind, and battery storage to power high-demand urban centers. My leadership in securing federal approvals, navigating environmental reviews, and managing multi-stakeholder collaborations drove this monumental project from concept to groundbreaking in 2025, showcasing my expertise in delivering mega-scale initiatives.
The Greenlink Nevada Transmission Project stands as a rare and landmark achievement in global transmission history, distinguished by its transformative impact and visionary scope. Beyond its sheer size, integrating cutting-edge substations and communication infrastructure, Greenlink bridges isolated renewable hotspots, enhances grid reliability, and positions Nevada as a national leader in sustainable energy, all while meeting stringent DOE environmental standards. This project exemplifies my career-defining ability to execute high-stakes, innovative infrastructure that meets immediate energy demands and sets a foundation for decades of clean energy progress, cementing my reputation for turning ambitious visions into enduring realities.
